ABOUT OUR CURRICULUM
QUALITY CHILDREN EDUCATION
The Ambrose Academy is registered with Impaq Educational Solutions and Ministry of Basic Education for Primary School Leaving Examination(PSLE).
We offer Impaq from Reception class to Grade 7. Impaq provides educational products based on South African Curriculum and Assessment Policy System (CAPS). Impaq has a developed model which guides on how to stimulate children to learn, process and retain information. It has comprehensive facilitator guides, standardized assessment resources and learning aids based on learners needs.
PSLE in Botswana is a criterion-reference examination that is administered to all learners who have completed the Ministry of Basic Education 7-year primary school programme.
We understand the concept that all individuals do not learn in the same way and that each learner can reach his/her own unique potential.

For systematic vocabulary improvement there are 100 words that the school has adopted. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to access them so that they can do a carry over.
The special needs learners use the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) which is an augmentative/alternative communication intervention package for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities.
It is such a valuable therapeutic tool where a learner can watch as one of their fingers directly writes on the screen to make selections, which in turn helps improve fine motor skills. Its bright pictures and easy navigation of Apple’s iPad make it easy for learners to use the many apps available for classroom and home use. The iPad’s lightweight, touchscreen design makes it easier for learners to use than a computer mouse and keyboard as one can easily carry it around. The ipad makes thinking visible in and outside the classroom.
We use Speechmark Classroom Resource which provides a structured way to develop children’s speaking and listening skills.
We facilitate Writing and Reading skills.
The IEP is a personalized learning plan designed for each student needs, which includes a description of their current level of performance, annual goals and required supports. IEP is done upon recommendation by the specialist consultant. The IEP can be revised every year or six months looking at the learners needs.
